Generate Study Questions From a PDF with AI

How the Data Actually Flows

Text is extracted from your PDF locally in your browser using PDF.js — the file itself never leaves your device. That extracted text is sent to PdfMeta's server, which asks OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini model to generate the requested number of questions and answers based on it, returned as a structured list you can expand one at a time.

Since questions are generated from the document's actual text, a scanned PDF without selectable text won't produce meaningful results — run it through PDF OCR first.
